Cannabis is a psychoactive drug derived from the Cannabis sativa plant, commonly known as marijuana, weed, or pot. It consists of dried leaves, flowers, stems, and seeds containing over 100 compounds, primarily delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC)—which causes a “high”—and cannabidiol (CBD), which is non-intoxicating. It is used for medical and recreational purposes.
